Summer Hyacinth

With sophisticated flair, Summer Hyacinth brings light and fragrance to your late summer border. Tall succulent flower spikes emerge from green strappy foliage and slowly unfurl their waxy white bells from the bottom up. Strong, strappy leaves give rise to tall spikes, covered in up to thirty fresh white blossoms just when your garden needs it most! Those flowers will bring bees – and lots of them – as well as a host of other pollinating insects such as butterflies and moths; but luckily they are not attractive to the local deer population. Summer Hyacinth is best planted in spring in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny spot – and where other plants will not shade them. Gardeners in cold climates may grow them as annuals, or bring the bulbs inside to overwinter in a cool, dark spot. If happy, the Summer Hyacinth is known to self-sow. An excellent cut flower with a light, pleasant fragrance.
